A report of the launch of the Covenant on demographic changes is online
On 7 December, AFE-INNOVNET, AGE-Platform and CEMR launched the Covenant on demographic change. The Covenant will gather towns and regions, as well as all interested bodies , including national governments, private sector and universities committed to support active and healthy ageing.

How can Latvian towns and regions fund the renovation of buildings? (CITYnvest event)
CITYnvest invites Latvian towns and regions to a conference to discuss how they can invest in the renovations of buildings despite potential obstacles, like budgetary restrictions.
The conference will take place in Riga on 23 February 2016 and it will be mainly addressed to Latvian towns and regions and local elected representatives, financial institutions, investors and energy service companies.

Energy efficiency - 11.01.2016
EU Commission launches consultation on the future energy efficiency rules
Since it entered into force in 2012, the Energy Efficiency Directive has set out binding measures to help the EU reach its 20% energy efficiency target by 2020.
Through this survey the Commission aims to collect views and suggestions from different stakeholders, including that of towns and regions, in view of the review of the Directive, expected for 2016.
Should you want to participate, you have until 29 January 2016 to summit your response. -

Since the first January 2016, the Netherlands helds the Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Among their objectives, there are a set of priorities in which CEMR is actively involved:

- Innovation & job creation
- Finances

- Our next conference on "Equality, Diversity and Inclusion” to be held in 2018 and/or:
- our next European congress to be held in 2020.
