Results of the Reykjavik City Council elections
The six-month old Best Party polled 34.7% at the Reykjavik City Council elections held in Iceland on 29 May, obtaining six city counselors, two seats short of the required majority for the 15-seat council.
The Independence Party secured 33.6% of the votes, a 9.3% decrease in comparison to the previous elections held in 2006, thus obtaining five city counselors.
The Social Democratic Alliance won 19.1% of the ballots, losing one seat due to an 8.3% decrease. Both the Left-Green Movement and the Progressive Party lost a seat with a respective score of 7.1% and 2.7%, ...
