President Schuster presented CEMR White Paper to Commissioner in charge of citizenship
The president of the Council of European Municipalities and Regions (CEMR) and mayor of Stuttgart Wolfgang Schuster met the European commissioner for citizenship, Viviane Reding, to present the main conclusions of the White Paper for an active European citizenship.
The CEMR White Paper brings new perspectives for involving citizens in the European project and formulates the position of local and regional authorities on citizenship and town twinning in light of the 2014-2020 EU “Europe for citizens” programme.
This paper is the result of three seminars held by CEMR in Estonia, Malta and Germany as well as the European Congress on Citizenship and Twinning that took place in Rybnik (Poland) in September 2011.
